Art & Motion students attend Alloy Orchestra

Very Cool concert at the Somerville Theatre. The Alloy Orchestra has been writing and performing live film scores for some of the early silent films. Saturday evening we experienced their score for “Metropolis”. This film was first screened in Berlin, 1927. The newly restored version is visually luscious and the musical score that was performed live made the event a totally immerse and visceral experience. It’s was hard to believe at times that three musicians were making all that sound, which was synchronized perfectly with the narrative.
